Hi everyone! It’s been a minute since I jumped on here and shared something with you all, and that’s because life has just gone into turbo mode the last few months. We are now under six months away from our wedding (eeeeekkk!!!), so I thought now would be the perfect time to share some shots from our engagement shoot.

In January, we travelled to Tasmania to meet our amazing photographer, Lena Lim. Lena had spent months conceptualising and organising our engagement shoot, and we are eternally grateful for her time, love and imagination.

Lena had suggested that we do a three-part shoot, and capture the different “chapters” of our love story. These images are from Chapter 1, and are meant to recreate us meeting and experiencing our first date- in the most romantic and aesthetically pleasing setting imaginable.

The day we went to Bridestowe Lavender Farm to take these photos, it was grey, and when we arrived, raining. I was devastated. After all the preparation and time that so many people had put into this shoot, we had bad weather. Thank goodness I am marrying someone who never loses his ability to make the best of any situation. Not only did Jarrad manage to keep his cool, he managed to completely lift my mood, and convince me that the rain would only enrich our experience. So out of the car we got, me in the most beautiful tulle dress that was barely more than two wispy layers, absolutely freezing my butt off.

Any worry about being cold or uncomfortable was quickly forgotten, as we sat down to eat scones and finger sandwiches amongst acres and acres of lavender. The weather ended up turning around about halfway through the shoot, and we had such a wonderful time- truly memories that I will treasure forever.
