What To Buy For Your New Puppy

In the most exciting news for our little family this week, we have a new puppy! Maple is another little Toy Cavoodle, who is every bit as cute and as much work as our Rosie was four and a half years ago.

Since we’ve known she was arriving, I’ve had so much fun buying all the necessities that new puppies need. Even in the time that’s elapsed since we brought Rosie home, there are so many new gorgeous and fun products around for puppies, and I thought I’d share a few things that we’ve picked up here, in case you too are on the hunt for something a little more special than the average pet store stocks.

St Argo, a Melbourne-based brand, make the best leather collars, leads and harnesses. As a bonus, they come in a range of gorgeous colours, and have matching waste bag holders that clip onto the leads.

We crate-trained Rosie, and are doing the same with Maple. This time I was hoping to find a crate that was a little more aesthetic, and blended into our home. After a lengthy search, I found these little rattan houses, and Maple love taking herself into hers when she wants some quiet time. Both our pups also have a super snuggly blanket that they are always resting on.

Now that we have a water and a food bowl for each pup, I also wanted something that didn’t look out of place in our kitchen. I love the blue and white design of these bowls, but they’re really only suitable for small dogs.

Our cavoodles love their toys, especially anything with a squeaker. These ones are extra cute, and come in a range of sizes. Continue reading below for all the extras we bought, including treat pouches, car seats and calming diffusers for puppies.
