Happy New Year everyone- here’s hoping for a wonderful 2025 for you all! We have just reached full term for Baby Blackburn, and as I sit at home finalising my hospital bag and organising myself for all things baby, I thought I would share some photos of our nursery!

We are currently living in a rental house due to Jarrad’s work, and after spending the last five years in an apartment that we owned and really made our own, I’ve found it challenging to say the least. The room next door to ours, which we selected as the nursery, has charcoal grey carpets and grey walls. The whole thing reminds me of a bruise and wasn’t exactly the room I pictured bringing our little girl home to.
As always, I started curating an inspiration folder on my phone, and realised I was gravitating toward a pink, cream and green colour scheme. I found a peel and stick wallpaper on Spoonflower that I loved, but it was in the wrong colour way. I decided to message the artist to see if there was any option to change the colours in her design, and within hours she had customised her work to be exactly what I was looking for.

Over the next few months, I started to realise how expensive everything baby-related can be, and so I turned to Facebook Marketplace to source virtually every element of the nursery. Our cot and rocking chair are second-hand Pottery Barn finds that we had reupholstered and the side table and chest of drawers were solid timber pieces that I sanded back and either painted or refinished.
Below, I’ve linked somer of the other pieces in case you’re interested.
